David Archibald Harvey (1845-1916) was born in Canada, but moved to Ohio as a child. A lawyer by trade, Harvey had a practice in Topeka, Kansas prior to moving to Oklahoma during the [[land run of 1889]]. In November of 1890 Harvey was elected to serve as the territory's first congressional delegate. After losing the 1892 election Harvey moved to Wyandotte, Oklahoma. He died in New Mexico in 1916. [[Harvey Avenue]] is named for him.
