Charlie Christian (1916-1942) was a jazz guitarist. Born in Texas, Christian and his family moved to Oklahoma City when he was a small child. He attended [[Douglass High School]] where he was taught music by [[Zelia Breaux]]. Christian would go on to play in Benny Goodman's band before his untimely death at the age of 25.
