Oklahoma Belle Cunningham Cheever was the first child of 89ers to be born in Oklahoma City. She was born in May of 1889, less than a month after the land run. As an adult she married Lawrence Cheever. After Lawrence's death in 1943 she married Lawrence's brother Earl. In the 1930s she started Cheever's Flowers, which is still in business today. The flower business started in Cheever's home, then later moved to the location that is now Cheever's Café before moving again to its current location. Oklahoma Belle Cunningham Cheever died in 1979 at the age of 90. She is buried in Fairlawn Cemetery.
