Baseball in Oklahoma City started as early as 1904 when the team was called the Oklahoma City Metropolitans (Mets). Over the next several years they played as the Mets, Indians, Boosters, and Senators before finally becoming the Indians in 1918. The team would continue to be called the Indians until 1962 when they became the 89ers. The team would be called the 89ers until 1998 when the team was renamed the RedHawks, which remained the name of the team until 2015 when they became the Dodgers. It was during the RedHawks era that they moved into the new stadium, the Bricktown Ballpark.

Oklahoma City is currently home to the OKC Dodgers, a Triple A baseball team affiliated with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
