E.L. Gaylord

Edward Lewis Gaylord (1919-2003) was a leading figure in Oklahoma Media. Gaylord worked for the Oklahoma Publishing Company for over thirty years before taking over operations of the Oklahoman upon the death of his father E.K. Gaylord in 1974. Gaylord also served as president of the State Fair of Oklahoma, and chairman of the board of directors of the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. E.L. Gaylord was inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in 1974. He died of cancer in 2003 at the age of 83.
